Bonnie Bagheri has been
on staff with San Marcos High school and has
taught dance and cheer for more than 20
years. She has led numerous teams on
to great success in both the local arena and
in National competitions with her dance
program. For the first 18 years
at San Marcos, she held her classes
outdoors. Thankfully, the program now
has its own studio. The studio, which
was built three years ago, is fully equipped
with hardwood floors, mirrors, large
windows, two locker rooms and an additional
practice space. This enabled the
program to grow and gave the students a
place to call their own.
Bonnie oversees several dance teams and
still coaches many individual groups. She
also oversees and guides the cheerleading
program at San Marcos, which currently has a
competition team that has won numerous State
and National titles. The Junior
Varsity and Varsity cheer teams are coached
by past students of Bonnie, and they too
have excelled the program.
As the director, Bonnie
has pulled together some very talented young
people to coach along side her. Below
you will read a bit about each of them.
You will see why San Marcos High School has
achieved excellence in their dance and cheer
program.

Jackie was born and raised in San Marcos.
Jackie attended San Marcos High School and
graduated in 2007. She is currently
attending Palomar College and is majoring in
Human Development.
Jackie is a cheerleader at heart. She
began cheering her Sophomore year under Bonnie
Bagheri and was coached by Cheryl Pecoraro and
Serena Sauerheber. She also was on the
Competition Team whole on Junior Varsity
Cheer and then moved on to Varsity Cheer.
Jackie was voted "Most Spirited" her senior
year. Jackie always wanted to make sure
that everyone was having a good time and was
punctual for everything; from getting to games
on time to getting out of class to do the
cheer-around before football games. Jackie
is a very energetic person who loves to get
others pumped up for what is going on around
them.
Jackie is also a cheerleader at Palomar College.
She is hopeful she will be an inspiration to the
younger girls to continue cheering once they are
out of high school if it is something they truly
enjoy.
Jackie is an organized person who wants things
to go as smoothly as possible. She is a
very hard worker but also knows the importance
of having fun with what you are doing.
Jackie believes that each member is an important
part of the squad, and for the squad to be
at it's most productive, it will take hard work
and dedication of all of it's members.
2008 will be Jackie's first year as a coach and
is looking forward to a successful year!
